Respect ME & ANY other ADULTS in the room– I believe that everyone should be respected for the sheer fact that they are human and deserve it.  I will ALWAYS respect you, and I expect the same in return.  A great deal of work goes into preparing lessons and activities for you.  I do this in the in the spirit of making your lives richer and preparing you for your future; please respect my hard work and dedication to you as worthy individuals.

Respect ALL SCHOOL RULES– I will be enforcing them.  THIS INCLUDES TARDIES & the CELL PHONE POLICY!

PROCEDURES

Be ON TIME!  If you need to use the restroom, let me know so I will not count you tardy.  I would rather you go BEFORE class begins.  You risk being told NO if you wait until after class starts.  IF I allow you to go before class starts, you must immediately begin the "As soon as you walk into the room" section below and get caught up.  Do NOT interrupt what the rest of the class is doing.

ALWAYS have your materials/supplies & homework.

As soon as you walk into the room:

  • Pick up any necessary handouts/books/supplies on the front table. *If you have been absent you will ALSO need to pick up any handouts on the back table.  (See "Make-up Policy & Procedures" page and "Absent Slips" below)

  • Put your phone in the phone holder hanging at the end of the front table (make sure it is on silent).

  • Get out your binder.

  • Copy the Daily Agenda IMMEDIATELY when you sit down (You do not have to copy the objectives.)

  • Begin the the first activity item on the Daily Agenda.

  • Have necessary materials/handouts/homework at hand (that means ALL of your supplies and your binder), & be ready to work & learn!

During Class:

  • ALWAYS be engaged.

  • Do NOT get up from your desk while I am teaching unless asked to do so.

  • Do NOT ask to go to the restroom while I am teaching or during group work.

  • I do NOT want to see your phone out unless I have instructed you to do WORK on your phone.

  • IF you have failed to put your phone in the holder, I will request that you give it to me.  If you refuse to give me your phone, you will receive a referral to your AP.

Absence Slips, Tardies & Leaving Class:

  • If you were absent the previous class, you will have to have an absence permit to enter class.  If you have it, place it in the specified place on my desk.  If you do not have one, you will have to TAKE A TARDY and go get one from the office.

  • If you are tardy, you must sign the log sheet as you enter the classroom. Immediately begin the "As soon as you walk into the room" section above and get caught up.  Do NOT interrupt what the rest of the class is doing.

  • If you leave class to use the restroom or anything else, you must have a pass and sign out & sign back in on the log sheet.

  • I WILL DISMISS YOU.  DO NOT JUST GET UP AND LEAVE WHEN THE BELL RINGS. NEVER LINE UP AT THE DOOR.
