Essential Questions: How do authors use their own experiences to develop assertions/themes as comments on the human condition? How do rhetorical/literary devices help to communicate these themes?

Objectives:

  • Content Objective: In my study of reading strategies and rhetorical/literary devices, I will be able to analyze reading passages for the author's use of rhetorical/literary devices to develop theme.

  • Language Objective: I will show what I have learned by writing rhetorical/literary responses to reading.

Focus:

  • Rhetorical/Literary Devices

  • Schaffer Model Paragraphing

  • Short Answer

  • None

Activities:

  • Complete District Assessment Short Answer Questions.

  • Complete District Assessment Essay (MAJOR GRADE to be returned on Monday, January 17th)

  • Homework:
